See Big Sur (#13)

Coming home from Dan’s birthday trip to Cambria/Hearst Castle, we drove through Big Sur on the Pacific Coast Highway. The California coastline is pretty amazing. Magnificent vistas abound. We stopped practically every 5 minutes, exclaiming “Look at the view!” The bridge in the last two pictures is fairly well represented in pictures of Big Sur – it’s the Bixby Bridge and was built in 1932.

I have to say, I’m glad we made the drive, even if I did get nauseous there at the end, but I’m not sure it’s something I would ever need to do again. We’re a bit spoiled, we can see similar gorgeous coastline views in one of our favorite places, Mendocino, and probably other tiny, adorable towns on the coast. It’s a rough life.
