The list. Oh the list. I try not to be obsessed with it, but when I review it sometimes or go to check something off, I occasionally get a bit anxious. Then I remember that it’s not a real thing, no one is monitoring this, except me.
However, all that aside, it’s also super satisfying to check things off. Since Rosa’s been all productive and stuff, she’s been making me want to finish things as well.
#48 – Learn how to can/preserve foods.
Check – over the summer, we made strawberry/rhubarb jam. We made 3.5 quarts and we’ve already eaten a bunch. Personally, I always thought of jam as an item that was difficult and time consuming to make. It’s…not.
#68 – This one was changed from buy myself a nice piece of jewelry to buy myself a really nice purse.
Check – I will tell you which one if you ask, but I will say it’s from Kate Spade and that I love it. A lot.
#92 and #93 – Edgehill and Foresthill city walks.
Check – we did these both the same day, which also happened to be the day we told our parents we got engaged. Aw, how meaningful.
Seriously, more on that whole story later. I know you all know the general story at this point, but I want to write it all down at some point. You know, several months later when it’s no longer relevant.
I’ve been reading a bit about canning, but they all suggest to start with vegetables (easy) and to avoid jams (hard) in the beginning. I’d much prefer to do something fruit-based.
I am monitoring your list. jk.
I’m going to need a canning lesson. I think I have that on my list as well. <3
Congrats on the engagement! I don’t know if it’s too late (I came here from a comment you left on my site — I know, I’ve been a lazy blogger recently due to schoolwork), but I wanted to recommend a site if you haven’t done the wedding yet. A Practical Wedding is my favorite wedding website, and I find it nice for keeping me grounded in the run up to my December wedding.
