I bought a blanket at Pottery Barn last week that I have been eyeing for about 6 months now. Is it weird to be obsessed with a blanket? Anyway, it’s cable knit and then one side is lined with super soft fleece. I brought it home and tonight curled up under it to read. I’m still laying under it, sort of, as my feet are sticking out and I have about 1/3 of it to use, as my cats have taken over the other space. They do not share well.

Since this afternoon, one of the buildings in my unit has had three false fire alarms. Basically, the system is all f-ed up, and if the technicians are unable to fix it tonight, we will have to do a firewatch. Now, a firewatch is basically the worst thing ever created – it entails someone walking the entirety of the building every 30 minutes non-stop until the morning to…watch for fires. So, let’s hope for experienced, non-rookie fire system technicians.

Another joy of living on campus – there are two people outside that are screaming not nice things at each other right now. It sounds like someone inside a building and someone outside a building on the ground level (you know, the same level as our apartment…) I know by the time I get my non-pajamas on to go out and kindly tell them to shut the hell up, they will be gone. So the pajamas are staying on.

I’ve read two books in the past two days, having recently re-discovered the joy of the public library. The best part about my local library is that they posted a sign that says “Come inside for a FREE portable reading device!” and the next week, they had posted another sign that said “Sorry for any confusion, these are called BOOKS” Awesome.

It has been a year since James had his surgery and he’s still doing very well. He still owes us money every time he pees and he still doesn’t like to talk about it. Unfortunately, my friend Dana’s cat Leo recently had to have the same surgery and is going through the same recovery – including the weeks of isolation and the cone of shame. Send him warm kitty thoughts, poor thing.

Woot! I have just now reclaimed half the blanket.

Last week when Dan went to his curling league, our passenger side car window got smashed, and some things (nothing valuable/important) got taken from the trunk. So now, I drive him to curling, like a mom dropping off her kid for soccer. Also, tonight he went curling and then came home and started working on a project for one of his clients, who happens to be USA Curling. Our apartment is all curling, all the time.
Endddddddd scene.
Ahhhhahahaha. I am laughing way too hard at the library signs. Well played, library.
